SGS Tekniks Manufacturing Pvt. Ltd (SGS Tekniks) is a AS 9100, ISO 13485, IATF 16949, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 certified company for Electronic Design & Manufacturing Services. SGS is pairing technology with innovation to make a positive social and environmental impact – building a Legacy of Good. They were looking for a way to offset rising electricity & invest in clean green energy in their Gurgaon centre, and partnered with SolarSmith Energy Pvt. Ltd. to integrate solar power in their energy mix.
SolarSmith Energy Pvt. Ltd. offered to commission “PowerSmith Elite” series solar system on their shed, which would produce the essential clean and green energy to power their office and also cut-off direct sunlight from hitting the shed, thus keeping it cool during summers.
SGS Tekniks now offsets nearly 33.3 percent of its electricity use with solar, saving as much as Rs. 11 Lacs per annum and nearly Rs. 2.7 Cr. Projected saving over the next 25 years.
❖ Reduction of heat in the building due to the shadowing benefits provided by the panels, helped in reducing the energy required for cooling the building.
❖ The project powers lighting in entire office.
Specially made structures
❖ As building height is 30m from ground and shed is north-south facing. In north side we have used rack type structure. Its kind installation at hand, the engineering team at SolarSmiths designed a custom structure for maximum generation with wind load bearing capacities after a detailed research & development. The structure design had to cater to the load bearding capacity of the shed, since it mounted on an existing purlin. ❖ Platform and walkways have been inbuilt into the structure for secured accessibility and ease of maintenance.

❖ Since the installation was at a height, it was of primary importance to us that the project is commissioned with utmost safety standards in place, ensuring zero safety incidents.
