Unistar Footwears Pvt. Ltd. Is a reputed footwear manufacturer in Bahadurgarh, Haryanna, India. It was established in 2007 by the founding director Mr. H.S. Bahety. It is managed by Mr. Bahety and Sons only. They reduced their conventional power consumption by almost 40% by installing Solar PV system.
The SolarSmiths worked with own trained engineers and installers throughout the installation process of the Solar PV system, to reduce the overall energy grid consumption of the business.
As part of the integration, Poly and Monocrystalline solar panels were installed, which provide 200 kilowatt (kW) of power. The system has been installed on the North-South tilted industry shed.
The utility meter has also been replaced by the bi-directional meter i.e Net meter to allow the factory to export the surplus electricity generated at any instant.
Project Benefits & Uniqueness
Unistar footwears now offsets nearly 40 percent of its electricity use with solar, saving as much as Rs. 25 Lacs per annum and nearly Rs. 5.7 Cr. Projected saving over the next 25 years.
